Who Jesus Was - Part 5: His Body Figure

1. According to the Bible, Jesus was born with human flesh in a manger from Mary in lineage of King David.
2. After eight days from the birth, he was circumcised and called JESUS as named by the Angel.
3. The record says Jesus was born in the place of Bethlehem of Judaea, and had seen by shepherds in the manger as a babe.
4. Thereafter, the wise men from Jerusalem came to see him as a young child in the house and they did worship him.
5. But because these wise men did not return to Herod in Jerusalem who sent them, the Angel of the Lord told Joseph the husband of Mary to depart into Egypt and hide there for Herod wanted to kill Jesus.
6. Then they departed from Bethlehem and did flee into Egypt by night.
7. And it came to pass when Herod died, the Angel of the Lord told them to go into the land of Israel. Then they went to Israel and lived in the City of Nazareth, part of Galilee.
8. And when the day did come that the young child Jesus was to be offered to the Lord in Jerusalem according to their Law, they brought him there.
9. After the offering had been performed, they returned to their City of Nazareth and there Jesus grew up.
10. At the age of twelve, he began to be independent from his parents and was inquiring heavenly things in the temple of Jerusalem. He said; “I must be about my Father's business.” Now, his wisdom with God and man had increased.
11. At the age of about thirty years old, he was baptized with water by John and then went on preaching the kingdom of Heaven.
12. Preaching and restoring the nation of Israel.
13. Reaching everywhere since the day he was baptized.
14. Making miracles and wonders.
15. And when the day of his crucifixion was near, the sweat of his agony dropped from the body like blood falling to the ground.
16. Suffered.
17. Then he died on the cross; he gave up the ghost.
18. But it was amazing, from the side of his body flowed blood and water.
19. Then his body was wrapped in linen and laid in a sepulcher.
20. Now, after three days and three nights he resurrected. This time we need to consider many things happened how his body moved from where he had been laid.
- found not the body Luk 24:3
- the linen clothes laid by themselves Luk 24:12
- the napkin, that was about his head wrapped together in a place by itself Joh 20:7
- the stone rolled away from the sepulchre Luk 24:2
- and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus Joh 20:14
- Jesus saith, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father Joh 20:17
- when the doors were shut, came Jesus and stood in the midst Joh 20:19
- he shewed unto them his hands and his side Joh 20:20
- he breathed on them Joh 20:22
- Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side Joh 20:26
- they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them.Luk 24:41
- handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have Luk 24:39
- Jesus stood on the shore , and he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) Joh 21:4,7
Those passages above need a careful reading. First when Jesus resurrected, the disciples found Jesus’ clothes alone laid in the sepulcher. But how did he leave the napkin and clothes remain wrapped together by themselves in a place? Also where did he pass from the tomb, for the stone at the door was so great, besides it was only opened by an Angel with the presence of the women to show them that Jesus was not there already? Thus we have two mysteries here:
· How Jesus left the cloths remain wrapped?
· Where he passed from the closed sepulcher?
To be sure that his body was flesh or spirit, we need to believe what he said; handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. Therefore, we cannot conclude that his body became now a spiritual body or a spirit, just to unlock these mysteries. In other words, his body was a pure flesh with bones; a natural body of flesh as he was that could eat and drink as the disciples had witnessed; “they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them.”
In understanding that Jesus had all the powers before and after he died, is the key of all these events. The powers of raising himself from the dead, transporting his body outside the sepulcher, and leaving the linen as it was wrapped, were not new miracles he did because he also did raise Lazarus, walked on the sea, stopeed the wind, and healed sickness before he died and as usual with the same body of flesh and bones.
Therefore, his body was not a spirit or a spiritual flesh after the resurrection but a natural flesh and bones. The only thing that differs in the human’s sight was he had all the powers according to his purpose.

1. According to the Bible, Jesus was born with human flesh in a manger from Mary in lineage of King David.
- Luk 2:6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
2. After eight days from the birth, he was circumcised and called JESUS as named by the Angel.
- Luk 2:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
3. The record says Jesus was born in the place of Bethlehem of Judaea, and had seen by shepherds in the manger as a babe.
- Luk 2:15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
4. Thereafter, the wise men from Jerusalem came to see him as a young child in the house and they did worship him.
- Mat 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
- Mat 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
5. But because these wise men did not return to Herod in Jerusalem who sent them, the Angel of the Lord told Joseph the husband of Mary to depart into Egypt and hide there for Herod wanted to kill Jesus.
- Mat 2:13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
- Mat 2:16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
6. Then they departed from Bethlehem and did flee into Egypt by night.
- Mat 2:13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. 14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
7. And it came to pass when Herod died, the Angel of the Lord told them to go into the land of Israel. Then they went to Israel and lived in the City of Nazareth, part of Galilee.
- Mat 2:20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life. 21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
- Mat 2:22 But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee: 23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.
8. And when the day did come that the young child Jesus was to be offered to the Lord in Jerusalem according to their Law, they brought him there.
- Luk 2:22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; 23 (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) 24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
9. After the offering had been performed, they returned to their City of Nazareth and there Jesus grew up.
- Luk 2:39 And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth. 40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
10. At the age of twelve, he began to be independent from his parents and was inquiring heavenly things in the temple of Jerusalem. He said; “I must be about my Father's business.” Now, his wisdom with God and man had increased.
- Luk 2:42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. 43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
- Luk 2:46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
- Luk 2:48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. 49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
- Luk 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
11. At the age of about thirty years old, he was baptized with water by John and then went on preaching the kingdom of Heaven.
- Luk 3:21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. 23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,
12. Preaching and restoring the nation of Israel.
- Luk 4:15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
- Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
13. Reaching everywhere since the day he was baptized.
- Luk 9:58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
14. Making miracles and wonders.
- Mat 14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
15. And when the day of his crucifixion was near, the sweat of his agony dropped from the body like blood falling to the ground.
- Luk 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
16. Suffered.
- Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
- Mat 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
17. Then he died on the cross; he gave up the ghost.
- Luk 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
18. But it was amazing, from the side of his body flowed blood and water.
- John 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
19. Then his body was wrapped in linen and laid in a sepulcher.
- Luk 23:53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
20. Now, after three days and three nights he resurrected. This time we need to consider many things happened how his body moved from where he had been laid.
