Abraham: A Father's Plan

Many of us are wondering why God commanded such thing to Abraham: to kill his only begotten son by himself and offer him unto God. Some say in the first impression that maybe God is just trying to test Abraham’s faith or maybe God is also a tempter for good. But I believe that there is a great purpose behind this unbelievable task of offering Abraham’s son, Isaac.
1. “And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him”
2. “for now I know that thou fearest God”
3. “seeing thou hast not withheld thy son”
4. “thine only son from me”
Because of these four statements the offering was set aside and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. But what was really the purpose of God in stopping Abraham in offering his son? Isaac was the only son of Abraham and notice there Isaac came from God “thine only son from me” And what about Jesus? is there any similarity to this? In the book of John it says; “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,” Joh 3:16. I believe this is not a just coincidence but a perfect match between the shadow and the things to come.

I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. 2. For God so loved the world 3. that he gave his only begotten Son 4. his only begotten Son |
I believe God had only showed the things which must come and be fulfilled according to his purpose of giving up his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
- For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. Matthew 13:17
