"REVEALING THE CONTEXT OF FAITH AND WORKS"
I wrote this article to reveal the major errors of some Christian teaching which I also learned before. This is about the literal catching up of some biblical terms resulting to an extreme denial of faith preached by Christ and his apostles. It started in the passage of Ephesians that says;
As easy as reading secular books, they therefore assume that man's faith/acceptance/belief is the only requirement of God in order to be saved from being dead in sins. Neither any good works therein is necessary and that once a person believed or accepted Jesus in his heart he is eternally secured and cannot be departed at any time. But when I tried examine this notion, I was so amazed because no where in the scripture can be found the terms "through man's faith or through man's faith alone", not even in that passage of Ephesians we used. It only implies that their claim is a hypothetical approach of where by adding/inserting the term "owned by men" to the phrase "saved through faith" the context fits. In this case, the "through faith" stated becomes through man's faith or through man's belief, and also the phrase "not of works" in the proceeding verse becomes "not of any good works". This is how these people read and interpret texts. They are fond of delivering context out from the whole truth in which the writer is trying to figure. Anyway, if they missed the contextual chronology of the gospel due to the word for word concept then they failed to apply the manner of understanding scriptures by comparing terms because they are spiritual.
You see? their thoughts about the faith and works in Ephesians are illogical in the first place with respect to that passage of Corinthians because they added more terms to fit what they believed instead of searching scriptural evidence. Again, according to them; through faith means through man's faith, and "not of works" means not even the good works that Christ preached. But if we study them diligently that's not what it says because there are two distinctive covenants in the Bible wherein these two phrases implied; the one which came from Moses and the other which came from Christ. And be informed that Christ and his apostles were teaching the truth between these two covenants that something has to be changed. It was like unto the new heaven and the new earth creation that the old heaven and earth will passed away. See the comparison below for easy look up of transformation.

"REVEALING THE CONTEXT OF FAITH AND WORKS"
I wrote this article to reveal the major errors of some Christian teaching which I also learned before. This is about the literal catching up of some biblical terms resulting to an extreme denial of faith preached by Christ and his apostles. It started in the passage of Ephesians that says;
- Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
- 1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
You see? their thoughts about the faith and works in Ephesians are illogical in the first place with respect to that passage of Corinthians because they added more terms to fit what they believed instead of searching scriptural evidence. <Before Christ's birth>
Law of Faith: Believe in God.
Law of Works: Be perfect and do the commandments of Moses.
|
<After Christ's birth>
Law of Faith Believe in Jesus Christ
Law of Works: Be perfect and do the commandments of Christ.
|
This truth is unclear to many Christians; that there are new laws established in the blood of Christ. And that this new law is a grace of God through Christ which cannot be altered by an old one.
Neither can be mixed up or merged but one must be put away.
And that exactly what it says in the whole writings of the apostles even Christ. The law of faith that was amended by Christ is the context in the Ephesians in which through his law people are saved as stated; by grace are ye saved through faith . It is not through your faith but through the new law of faith which is in Christ. Now, the works also as stated in the proceeding verse of that passage written; Not of works, lest any man should boast,
does not include the works which Christ had preached and his apostles, but those are the works made under the old law like ten commandments and its ordinances, the circumcision of flesh, and the sacrifice. For by that law anyone can boast like Paul he said;
Thus when Paul received the new law from Christ he repented of doing works which are of the old law.
- Gal 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
Neither can be mixed up or merged but one must be put away.
- Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
- Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
And that exactly what it says in the whole writings of the apostles even Christ. The law of faith that was amended by Christ is the context in the Ephesians in which through his law people are saved as stated; by grace are ye saved through faith . It is not through your faith but through the new law of faith which is in Christ. - Php 3:4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: 5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
Thus when Paul received the new law from Christ he repented of doing works which are of the old law.
- Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
From Ephesians 2:8
1. are ye saved through faith; 2. and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 3. Not of works, lest any man should boast. |
From Philippians 3
1. but that which is through the faith of Christ 2. And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 3. But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, |
From Romans 3
1. Nay: but by the law of faith 2. To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? |
The context between faith and works here is not about the faith and works of individuals but it was the comparison of Christ's law and Mosaic Law to let them know of which law people are justified. Like for example in this passage we read.
Question: Of what law the phrase "without the deeds of the law" is referring to?
Answer: Absolutely the law of Moses which was given 430 years before the new law of Christ.
But now in Christ priest hood, we have the new law that we are bound to fulfill: The Law of Christ.
And under this law we are saved.
For in this, the law of faith says;
And in this, the law of works commanded;
So be careful of following doctrine, maybe it's only a presumption of man and not of Christ........
- Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

- Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
And under this law we are saved.
For in this, the law of faith says;
- John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
And in this, the law of works commanded;
- 1Th 4:1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. 2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
So be careful of following doctrine, maybe it's only a presumption of man and not of Christ........
