Another question came out saying: In like manner of Jesus’ ascension he would come with flesh and bones and he shall descend from the heaven and his feet shall stand on the mount of olive.
If we say “in like manner”, what is really mentioned there in the text that refers about this?
So, this is the manner of Christ coming, “a CLOUD received him” – which is the going into heaven. Jesus told them already before he died that he shall come in the clouds.
Now, if the scriptures say that he shall come again with a term “cloud”, then why should we presume that we will see him floating in the clouds of heaven? Instead of searching what this cloud means as per scriptures.
The statement of these two men who stood by them saying “in like manner” Christ shall come – they were referring to a “cloud” and nothing more. There is no other text that shows another figure of his return but a cloud term. Besides, it was also prophesied that he shall come in the clouds. The prophets didn’t say a physical/flesh and bones coming but they say with clouds of heaven. And this cloud term means the Day of Judgment in the last day of Israel. It is the day of wrath and mourning.
Thus there is no biblical basis of “flesh and bones” appearing of Christ for it is a manner of cloud receiving which means the coming judgment of his people. And the truth of his resurrected body of flesh and bones is that we can see him no more. As written;

- And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. Act 1:9
- Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Act 1:11
So, this is the manner of Christ coming, “a CLOUD received him” – which is the going into heaven. Jesus told them already before he died that he shall come in the clouds.
- Mark 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
- Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Now, if the scriptures say that he shall come again with a term “cloud”, then why should we presume that we will see him floating in the clouds of heaven? Instead of searching what this cloud means as per scriptures.

- Zephaniah 1:15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
Thus there is no biblical basis of “flesh and bones” appearing of Christ for it is a manner of cloud receiving which means the coming judgment of his people. And the truth of his resurrected body of flesh and bones is that we can see him no more. As written;
- Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; John 16:10
- Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforthknow we him no more. 2 Corinthians 5:16
- And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:20
- And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it. 23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them. Luk 17:22
