Salvation is the deliverance from harm, difficulty, destruction and failure. This is what man seeks on his entire life. But there are two types of salvation in the scriptures;
1. Salvation from spiritual death (sins)
2. Salvation from physical death (flesh)
To prove, please read the quoted verses below.
"Salvation from Physical death (flesh)":
SAVED FROM THE SWORD
SAVED FROM THE FLOOD
SAVED FROM THE FIRE
SAVED FROM PRISON
SAVED FROM SICKNESS & DISEASES
SAVED FROM THE DESTRUCTION
And the Salvation from Spiritual death (sins)
BRING OFFERING
MAKE ATONEMENT
KEEP PASSOVER
BELIEVE HIS NAME
In physical salvation, God did save the Jews in many ways. As we see in the quoted verses above; To Moses, God told him that he must lift up his rod, and stretch out his hand over the sea, and divide it so that they can escape from the coming Egyptian army by passing in the midst of the sea. To Noah, God told him that he must build an ark of gopher wood because of the coming flood. To Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah, God sent his angels and told him to get out from their place in Sodom because of the coming destruction of the city by fire. To Peter, the angel came and unleashed Peter from prison, that they could not kill him. To the Children of Israel, Jesus told them that when they will see Jerusalem compassed with armies they must evacuate from their City of Judea and Jerusalem because the war is coming.
In spiritual salvation, God said; bring an offering, make atonement, keep Passover and lastly, believe in the name of Jesus.
Now, what is this name of Jesus is all about?
When Jesus said; that those who would not believe in his name is condemned and the condemnation is they cannot see the light that is come. The light mentioned here is actually Him. John the apostles described Jesus Christ in his epistle as the life that come into the world , a life that give light to men. And He was the light that comes in the darkness and shine.
It means that the condemned people will not receive Him neither believe His words because they loved the world more that Him, the same as they loved darkness rather than light. And this was completely fulfilled when he died on the cross. The condemned generation of Israel did not accept the light and killed Him. This is the salvation in first century that people must have. A salvation from being dead spiritually and from the coming vengeance/destruction/war as well. As he said;
So SALVATION in the scriptures is all about having LIFE its either a temporal or eternal life .

- Luke 3:6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
Salvation is the deliverance from harm, difficulty, destruction and failure. This is what man seeks on his entire life. But there are two types of salvation in the scriptures;
1. Salvation from spiritual death (sins)
2. Salvation from physical death (flesh)
To prove, please read the quoted verses below.
"Salvation from Physical death (flesh)":
SAVED FROM THE SWORD
- Exo 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. 14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. 15 And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
SAVED FROM THE FLOOD
- Gen 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
SAVED FROM THE FIRE
- Gen 19:14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law. 15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
SAVED FROM PRISON
- Act 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. 6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. 7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
SAVED FROM SICKNESS & DISEASES
- Matthew 4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
SAVED FROM THE DESTRUCTION
- Luk 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
And the Salvation from Spiritual death (sins)
BRING OFFERING
- Exo 25:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.
MAKE ATONEMENT
- Leviticus 16:34 And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
KEEP PASSOVER
- Numbers 9:2 Let the children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season.
BELIEVE HIS NAME
- Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
- Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
- Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
- John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
It means that the condemned people will not receive Him neither believe His words because they loved the world more that Him, the same as they loved darkness rather than light. And this was completely fulfilled when he died on the cross. The condemned generation of Israel did not accept the light and killed Him. This is the salvation in first century that people must have. A salvation from being dead spiritually and from the coming vengeance/destruction/war as well. As he said;
- John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
So SALVATION in the scriptures is all about having LIFE its either a temporal or eternal life .
